Key Elements

Dantzic is a Grade II listed building situated at the junction of Dantzic Street and Hanover Street in Manchester, overlooking Sadler’s Yard. Refurbished by Russells Construction, the building provides 45,000 sq ft of commercial office space over seven floors. Working with the NOMA team, Workman, and Sheppard Robson, CWC have designed the project up to RIBA Stage 3.

As a listed building the refurbishment presented several challenges. The project was required to meet BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standards and be energy efficient, whilst maintaining the architectural heritage of the building. Designed to BCO standards, the building has an EPC “C” rating and is compliant with the NOMA RPI guide. The building retains a natural ventilation strategy and features exposed ceiling services.

Along with its neighbours Federation and Hanover, the refurbishment of Dantzic Building is part of the ongoing redevelopment of the NOMA district.
