Andy Ringland delivering a presentation on M&E Engineering at circle square as part of regeneration brainery's 2024 manchester bootcamp

We are very proud to announce our partnership with Regeneration Brainery, a non-profit which aims to open up careers in the construction industry to talent from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Too often, young people are not aware of the different careers available in construction, and the industry suffers from a lack of diversity. Regeneration Brainery works directly with school and college aged students raising awareness, providing direct access to hands on work experience, career guidance, mentorship, networking opportunities and much more.

At CWC, we know that the construction sector needs to work harder to break down stereotypes and identify routes and barriers to entry for anyone to start a career in engineering. By partnering with Regeneration Brainery we will be getting involved in their events and sharing our expertise to help drive change in the industry.

Manchester Brainery Week

To kick start the partnership, our CTO Andy Ringland delivered a presentation at Circle Square as part of a recent Manchester Brainery Week. These bootcamps are the heart of Regeneration Brainery’s programme, five day interactive events to immerse students in the construction industry with career talks, site visits and workshops, all for free. Andy spoke about his route into the construction industry, M&E Engineering in general and CWC’s role in bringing Circle Square to life.

Andy said: “It was such a privilege to be asked to participate in the bootcamp and share a little of my journey into the construction industry. It was a pleasure to meet young people who are really engaged with and excited by the idea of regeneration and placemaking. There’s a lot of young talent out there and Regeneration Brainery are doing great work to raise awareness of all the varied opportunities in our industry.

It was brilliant to see students getting excited about M&E Engineering – Circle Square was the perfect place to show off what we do and how rewarding it is. I hope I’ve inspired some people to seriously consider M&E as a career path, and look forward to future events to continue spreading the message!”

Founded in 2017, Regeneration Brainery now works with over 4,000 young people across the UK every year. We are very proud that our partnership will help fund the expansion of the programme to new towns and cities, whilst ensuring participation remains free to all students.
