Last week we hosted our first Macmillan Coffee Morning in the Manchester office.
The event was held in honour of our former office manager Lynn Mackay, who sadly passed away from cancer in August 2018. She worked at Crookes Walker for 12 years and her loss has been keenly felt by everyone in the office.
Taking part in the world’s biggest coffee morning was a fitting tribute, as well as an excellent opportunity for everyone to show off their baking skills – and it turns out we employ some seriously competitive bakers. Lemon drizzle? Check. Cardiac arrest chocolate muffins? Check. Coconut cream cake blow torched to within an inch of its life? Check.
We are thrilled to have raised £450 for this excellent cause, and pleased that no matter how much cake we eat, there always seems to be more. We look forward to hosting our next one.
