The Pavilions, Circle Square

Manchester

Subterranean leisure space beneath a new city park.

At the heart of Circle Square sits Symphony Park, the largest new city greenspace in Manchester for generations. Surrounded by over 100 trees, it is an oasis of relaxation which will also host a wide range of events from live music to yoga, turning the park into a destination in its own right. Two large lawns become terraces of raised seating, beneath which you will find the Pavilions: two subterranean spaces offering even more leisure and retail space.

CWC were commissioned to produce the MEP design for both units to shell and core level. The underground location and future tenant requirements meant ventilation was a key consideration in the design. Boutique fitness studio TRIB3 opened in September 2021 in the North Pavilion, offering unique, experiential HIIT sessions in luxury facilities and a custom shake bar to compliment the workouts.
Hello Oriental occupies the South Pavilion, a modern destination for Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine with DJs and live music every weekend. Boasting a market hall, street food, supermarket and bakery over three floors, it is the ultimate foodie destination. With its five kitchens, the design required special fire consideration as well as high ventilation requirements. CWC designed the strategy to facilitate these needs and ensured it remained viable throughout construction.

The result is two unique venues, each bringing something new and exciting to this vibrant city centre neighbourhood.
