We were delighted to fly the flag for the construction industry at the annual Indy Man Beer Convention in Manchester last week.
Hosted at the iconic Victoria Baths, the convention is a hedonistic mix of craft beer, DJs and street food, juxtaposed against an Edwardian Listed Building. Angela and John have fond memories of swimming here as kids, so it was interesting to experience the building used in a totally different way.
The range of beers (and other drinks!) was outstanding, as was the food. It’s not every night you’re enjoying a vegan kebab followed by a raspberry beer float in a swimming pool changing cubicle. As for the hourly free for all cheese carve – well you can’t have too much of a good thing, can you?
Our evening was kindly hosted by eco-I who did an incredible job of looking after us and making sure we were well fed and watered. We had a great night catching up with friends and industry colleagues past and present. SES Engineering Services were also in attendance, with whom we are working on Circle Square to deliver the 384 room Vita Student building.
We’ll certainly be back next year. Where else can you admire architecture, drink insane beer and win a pickle all in one night?
