Last weekend saw the Mini Challenge return to Snetterton for the last round. With over a dozen races under his belt since the first round back in May, how did Andy fare in the final?
Arriving on the first day the sky was clear but the track was most definitely wet. Remembering Donnington, Andy decided to change his tyre set up, putting dry tyres at the front but wets on the rear for stability. This paid off and he qualified 5th for the first race, his highest starting position of the season.
By Sunday the the threat of rain was looming, but everyone was on dry tyres for the final race. It started dry and Andy was making good progress until the rain came down and everything went sideways – very literally. The chequered flag was shown early and Andy took 8th place, putting him in 7th for the season overall.
A very respectable result for his first season and a solid base to build on next year. Visit Andy’s website for the full race report and highlights video.
