Round Four of The Mini Challenge took place at Croft in Yorkshire, a brand new circuit for Andy. The weekend got off to a positive start; with six races completed so far in the challenge, Andy was eligible to remove the novice cross from his car – a momentous occasion for any new racer!

Qualifying times were extremely close, with only 0.5 seconds separating 4th and 8th, but Andy ended up in 8th position going into race one. He gradually climbed his way to 6th but was but was overtaken on the final corner, finishing the race in 7th.

Sadly race two ended prematurely for Andy and fellow driver Adrian Norman as they both ended up in the gravel at the first turn. A weekend of frustration and tough lessons for Andy, but he’s looking ahead to the next round in a couple of weeks.

See the full race report and vlog on Andy’s website. You can follow Andy’s progress on our social: Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.

The next meeting takes place at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire on 7th September.
